George Fox was the founder of Quakerism. He lived from 1624 to 1691. His friend, William Penn, was the founder of Pennsylvania. George Fox believed that a piece of God was inside every person. People did not take this lightly, so he and his followers were persecuted.
Quakerism first started in England, then spread to America in 1656, where it was not accepted at first. Gradually, Fox got more and more followers.
